Vampires, rock music, and Einstein’s entanglement theory – what more could you ask for in a movie? The Only Lovers Left Alive, follows Adam and Eve (played by Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton), two vampires who can’t live without the other, as they drive around Detroit and comment on the vapidness of the Zombies (i.e. human) population. Throughout history, the vampires have given their art away; Adam composed most of Bach’s music, for example. The not-so-subtle message is that we’ve turned into an uncultured mass. Pretentious? Maybe. But the music rocks, and Hiddleston and Swinton are unbelievably cool as vampires in love.

If you’re looking for a series that involves murder, romance, and court cases in almost every episode, you should definitely watch How to Get Away with Murder. Throughout the season, the murder is slowly revealed through twists, turns and flashbacks. The finale of the first season was shocking and I can only imagine what season 2, which comes out next fall, will bring.
