Looking for some fun things to do if you’re stuck at Mason for spring break? Assuming that it ever stops snowing, here are some ideas to keep you busy!
Pinstripes Bowling
What? Bowling and Boche ball plus a gourmet bistro all in one building. See their menu at http://www.pinstripes.com/Georgetown.
Where? The Shops at Georgetown Park. 1064 Wisconsin Ave. NW Washington, D.C. 20007
How to get there: If you don’t have a car, you can take the Mason to Metro shuttle or the CUE Bus to the Vienna metro station. Take the metro to the Foggy Bottom/GWU Stop. From there, you’ve got about a 15 minute walk to Georgetown. Remember to check shuttle.gmu.edu for adjusted shuttle times during spring break.
How much? Prices vary depending on when you go, but bowling ranges from $5-$9 a game and boche ranges from $5-$10 an hour. Shoe rentals are $4 all the time.
Indoor Fairfax Ice Arena
What? You can go indoor ice skating in Fairfax, just a short bus ride from Mason! Their hours vary due to the time of the year, private parties, etc. Check their website before you go. http://www.fairfaxicearena.com

How to get there: If you don’t have a car, take the Green 2 cue bus to stop 48. It’s less than a 20 minute ride away.
How much? Skate prices range from $7.50-$8.50 depending on when you go; skate rentals are always $4.
National Harbor, Maryland
What? National Harbor has a lot to do: restaurants, shops, a Ferris wheel and carousel, a bike trail, a farmers market, and even a water taxi! During the first weekend on spring break, they’ll be hosting restaurant week with all meals at their various restaurants ranging from $8-$20! On the 15th, they’ll be playing march madness games on their plaza screen. As an added bonus- the whole harbor has free wifi!

How to get there: If you don’t have a car, take the CUE bus or Mason to Metro to the Vienna station. Ride the orange line towards New Carrollton, getting off at the L’Wnfant Plaza station to transfer to the green line towards Branch Avenue. Get off at Branch Avenue and take the NH1 bus towards National Harbor. This trip should cost about $5-$10 depending on your payment method. Sweet Treats in Georgetown (Several Places)
What? Georgetown has a wide variety of cafes, restaurants, stores, and ice cream parlors to satisfy your sweet tooth. Thomas Sweet, Georgetown Cupcake, Dog Tag Bakery, Haagen-Dazs, Ben and Jerry’s and Hershey’s will all fill you up quite quickly!
