PATS FOR PATRIOTS – 11/04

Welcome back to Pats for Patriots! As we move into the second half of the semester, campus is bustling in anticipation of the upcoming midterm elections and the beginning of winter sports here at Mason.

This week…

Staff member, Dorothy West, received a pat for uplifting the spirit of her office. Her fellow colleague says that West decorated their offices, and often shares the artwork she creates in hopes of inspiring social justice work. Among other things, her fellow faculty member says, ”Her humor is contagious.”

Student Haley White received a pat for demonstrating professionalism in everything she does.

The faculty member who nominated her says “I have had the pleasure of having her work for me as my student worker and I know she will make a tremendous impact on the world post-graduation!” White was praised for her willingness to step in and find a way to make things work with a “yes attitude, thoughtfulness, and creativity.”

Staff member Janine Ford received a pat from a faculty member. Ford stepped up and helped organize different versions of exams and answer sheets when an unexpected meeting was scheduled. Without having done this, students would have been impacted with less time to take their exams. The faculty member characterizes Ford as “always willing to go the extra mile to make your life a little easier.”

Keep up the kindness Patriots, we’ll be back in two weeks to share more of your encouraging interactions!
