On April 20 and 21, Mason students had the chance to get a little exercise while also making a healthy snack. As part of Earth Month 2016, the Office of Sustainability hosted two Bike Blender events. Activated by pedaling, blenders attached to stationary bikes whirred together fresh ingredients. On April 20, those ingredients were strawberries and bananas. On April 21, they were pineapples and leafy greens, including kale, from the greenhouse in Presidents Park.
These events were two of several Earth Month events dedicated to promoting sustainable foods.
