Looking for a taste of Italy in the DMV? North Italia has been making waves with locals and foodies alike, boasting multiple locations in the region. Located in the bustling Boro District at Tysons Corner, this restaurant offers a chic ambiance and an elevated dining experience– perfect for special occasions or a romantic night out.

The first thing to notice about North Italia is its fancy-yet- welcoming ambiance. With soft lighting, modern décor and cozy seating arrangements, the restaurant creates an ideal setting for a candlelit date or a picture-perfect birthday dinner. Situated in the Boro Tysons, known for its walkable downtown experience, the restaurant is a convenient option for those exploring Tysons without a car.

For Mason students, North Italia’s accessibility is a big plus. Connected via the Greensboro stop on the Silver Line Metro, simply take the Mason shuttle to the Vienna Metro station, board the Orange Line toward New Carrollton, transfer to the Silver Line at East Falls Church and hop off at Greensboro. From there, it’s a quick 10-minute walk to the restaurant.

Their menu offers a variety of Italian classics with a modern twist. Two dishes that stand out are the White Truffle Garlic Bread, a decadent starter perfect for sharing, and the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka Pasta, a crowd favorite with just the right kick.

“I loved the food, especially the Spicy Rigatoni Pasta,” junior Neha Sharma said.

North Italia also stands out for its diverse menu, catering to a wide range of preferences and dietary needs. With options like the fresh Margherita Pizza and a variety of customizable pasta dishes, the restaurant ensures there’s something for everyone.

Junior Sthuthi Chakravarthy shared her experience and said, “I love how inclusive the restaurant menu was. The server noticed we were ordering vegetarian dishes and suggested some of their popular vegetarian options, which made the experience feel so thoughtful and personalized.”

The servers are not only friendly but also accommodating when it comes to allergies and dietary restrictions. For those unfamiliar with Italian cuisine or visiting the restaurant for the first time, the staff is quick to recommend must-try dishes and help navigate the menu, making every patron feel welcomed and well cared for. The level of service adds an extra layer of warmth to the upscale dining experience, ensuring that guests leave both satisfied and impressed.

While the food is delicious, it comes with a slight premium price tag—pasta dishes range from $20 to $25, and appetizers start at $10. It’s a great place for a treat or celebration but not necessarily a regular hangout spot for casual dining.

“I would definitely visit again but not on a more frequent basis, as the vibe was very formal and not casual dining,” Sharma said.

North Italia at Tysons is a solid choice for anyone looking to elevate their dining experience with high-quality Italian cuisine and an elegant atmosphere. While it may not be a go-to for casual outings, it’s perfect for special occasions or when you’re in the mood to splurge a little. Accessible, aesthetically pleasing and full of flavor, North Italia is definitely worth a visit for DMV food enthusiasts.
