Mason is a school with complete and total freedom of expression, and therefore was recently awarded a “green light” rating from the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education. This freedom, coupled with Mason’s status as a public university, means that any person, at any time, can utilize Mason’s outdoor space to exercise his or her right to free speech. The space most used for this purpose is North Plaza, located in front of the Johnson Center. Learn more about this area and how it’s used in the video below:
