Happy Friday, Patriots! 

This week brings a very special edition of Pats for Patriots as Oct. 21st is the first anniversary of the program! The Fourth Estate would like to send a special pat to the Mason Chooses Kindness Initiative for inspiring random acts of kindness and positivity within the Mason community. 

This week…

Faculty Lane Schwager received a pat from a student who said it was “an honor” to take her class as a senior and described it as a “warm and welcoming” environment. “The class felt like family and was always so wholesome. You truly have a gift to teach to students inside and outside class!”

Faculty Tonya Trumpe received a pat for providing baskets of treats in the staff break room for whoever needs a pick-me-up. Her fellow faculty member is extremely grateful for her random act of kindness. 

Staff member Nikki Smith Accierto received a pat for being a “supportive and energetic” consultant. Her colleague said, “She stays on top of everything and seems to know the next step her clients need to take, even if they don’t know it yet.”  

Midterm season is officially behind us and the spooky season is officially upon us! There are many events on campus to get into the fall spirit and students are looking forward to the upcoming Halloween festivities. The Fourth Estate would like to send a special pat to everyone encouraging a safe and exciting Halloween!
