New Fenwick Library is open for business

Today, the Fenwick library addition opened to the Mason community. After more than three years of construction and a final budget totaling $60 million, students and faculty can now use the library space. According to Jennifer Wilder, development and communications coordinator for University Libraries, the total library space now spans 300,000 square feet.

“This is kind of, in some way, Fenwick 4.0,” Wilder said.

Among other things, the new space features a rain garden extending from the third floor and will eventually feature an Argo Tea café on the first floor. Wilder said the café is expected to be installed at some point this semester.
